CTB Terra Nova Tests are published by McGraw-Hill Publishers.  They are still used around the country
as Standardized Tests of basic skills and core knowledge.  The above scores were based on 1996 norming.
The Terra Nova 3 was administered in Spring 2009 and was normed in 2008. Scores dropped slightly due
to the change in testing structure.

All scores are reported as National Percentiles.  A student score of 52 indicates the student performed as
well as or better than 52 percent of all the students who took the test in the norming year.  The average
score is 50 with 40 to 60 being acceptable scores.  Scores over 60 are considered above average. Scores
under 40 are considered below average.

Father Hay scores represent the average of all students who took the test in the given year.  This includes
both gifted and special needs students.  We do not filter out low scores!  Our population changes
somewhat from year to year creating the fluctuation in scores. If you have questions, please contact the
school directly.
